Missionary Virginia Lockwood Terry

Mrs. Virginia Lockwood Terry is the First Lady of the Texas Southeast Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. She also serves along side Bishop T.T. Terry, Sr. at the Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C. and Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Dallas Texas.

She is a devoted servant of the Lord and has known Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior since she was a little girl.

Mother Terry is not ashamed to let whomever she comes in contact with know that she is a child of the king. She had served as the Secretary of the Texas Southeast Third Women Department for over (40) years. 

Born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller Sr., Mother Terry graduated from the Willis Independent School District where she received her elementary and secondary education. This was the beginning of a lifelong love of her professional career.

Mother Terry entered college where she received her Bachelor Degree from the Huston Tillotson University, a Master of Education at East Texas State University and her Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Oklahoma University.

Serving in education for 40 forty years, she served as the principal of the Ronald E. McNair Elementary School in Dallas.  During her tenure, she pursued an aim excelling her school to an “Exemplary” status that was acknowledged by the Texas Education Agency.  This accomplishment was deemed the highest rating for McNair Elementary School under the leadership of Mother Terry for (4) consecutive years.

In May 2005, as the  Principal for Daniel Chappie James Learning Center in Dallas, she was named and recognized for her excellence in education by the D-Magazine as leading the top school in the Dallas/Fort worth Metroplex.

In November 2005, Mother Terry received the National Alliance of Black School Educators Award in Detroit, Michigan.  The award is bestowed to only 17 schools nation-wide.  Mother Terry has since received numerous awards from several organizations.

She continues to support others, undergird individuals, and aide the community.  Not only does she encourage children, but she also rewards them for having the ability to be kind, courteous to others and their hard work.

Mother Terry philosophy is, “Learning is a lifelong process, while students come in all ages!”

While continuing her work beside Bishop Terry in the church, she also currently owns an Insurance Agency (dba) Virginia Insurance/Consulting Firm.  Mother Terry oversees several Insurance Agents with consulting and training on the Medicare Advantage Plans for seniors and the disable.  Her agency consist of companies such as Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White, Teachers Retirement and many more.
